I had never witnessed so many shades of green in the water. An amazing <span class=\"tooltipsall tooltipsincontent classtoolTips104\">site<\/span> I will never forget.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">When I came back to France to spread the news of my discovery, a friend asked why I had gone so far away on a desperate mission when the jewels were in front of my eyes\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Such disdain nearly ended the conversation, but I wanted to know the source of his enchanted local Eden.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">He muttered some unheard name: <strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><em>\u201cGouffre de Padirac\u201d.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">When I searched the <span class=\"tooltipsall tooltipsincontent classtoolTips104\">site<\/span>, I found beautiful caves that <span class=\"tooltipsall tooltipsincontent classtoolTips30\">resembled<\/span> the Cenotes with a pre-historic twist. Paintings on the walls of the famous prehistoric <strong>Lascaux caves<\/strong> also bridge their <span class=\"tooltipsall tooltipsincontent classtoolTips59\">heritage<\/span> all the way to the Paleolithic period.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>White horses and black bulls\u2026A Camargue tradition<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Born black, they turn white at four.&nbsp; Powerful and robust, the white horse is the symbol of the Camargue region, along with the black bull, which is also a local delicacy \u2013 the bull, not the horse! Both animals have grazed the same pastures for centuries, though this horse can sustain long periods of time without food.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: black; font-family: Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; The dome is 94 meters high.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"right\"><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: windowtext; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">A steep staircase then leads you up to the top of the cavern to get a view of the cavern from above and the sight of some lovely water pools along the way. (It is possible to walk back along the edge of the river to the boats if the climb is likely to be too much for you).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: windowtext; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;
